Hello Everyone!

Recently I spoke to Kansas City Power and Light and wanted to share with all how that went. First let me give a little background as to how KCP&L got together. Last February I received a phone call from a girl that works at the Think First office of Columbia. She had asked me f I would be able to speak at KCP&L's safety kick off luncheon. Of course I agreed, but was a bit apprehensive about speaking to adults about "Think First." After the luncheon I left feeling like I had done a good job, and thought that it was very well received. Well apparently it was! In May I was asked to come back and speak to their entire staff, but this time, in 9 different training sessions. Woohoo!!! Having just finished the final session last week, the feedback has been fantastic. It has reiterated to me that every single one of us needs to be reminded about how valuable are life is, and how easily it can change in a split second. So I would like to share with you all just a few of the many emails that I received personally from the employee's of KCP&L.

If you would like to talk to me about this presentation for your employee's, just give a call or shoot me an email.

Joe

Good safety meeting Vonda. No doubt the most difficult one I have ever sat through. Susan I lost our oldest daughter nearly three years ago in a roll-over. She was not wearing her seat belt and was thrown from the car. I think it is good that KCP&L sponsored Joe Rhea so that we are reminded of how fragile life is.
Dave.

I wanted to Thank You, for allowing me to attend the safety meeting. Although we all have heard and know how important safety is, it was very meaningful to have it reinforced. I really appreciated the meeting and it has enlightened me on things that I can do better to practice a better safety lifestyle in my life.BIG THANKS,Rashaunda Price

Hi Joe..
Just wanted to drop you a note of thanks for sharing your story and the program with us. It was very thought provoking and I found myself really paying attention to what I'm doing when I'm behind the wheel. I also found myself paying more attention to others as they're driving and what I saw really shocked me. Again, thanks.

Karen
I attended the 1PM Safety Meeting yesterday here at 1201 and myself and several of my coworkers agreed that this presentation was extremely moving and by far, the best presentation you've brought to us.
Thank you.

Just a plug to attend today's Office Safety Meeting at 1201 if at all possible…Joe's presentation is very POWERFUL and one that will compel each of us to be messengers to our loved ones. Joe talks from personal experience, and how one split second of careless thinking can drastically change our lives forever. I asked Joe if there are other scheduled presentations within the community where we could take family members (because his videos are a powerful component of the message), but Joe says he usually speaks at schools. Karen Kono is going to check into the possibility of making an evening presentation available to our extended KCP&L family (thanks Karen). --thanks, Janis
