Hello all,
Last Thursday I had the opportunity to speak at the Downtown Kansas City Rotary Club. It is the 13th oldest Rotary club in the world. It went great! The Rotarians were incredibly kind to me, and all seemed very intent on making me feel welcome. So much in fact, that I honestly was not nervous speaking to them. That is very rare for me, not to feel nervous. Yes its true, even professional speakers get nervous. Even Michael Jordan got nervous, which by the way helps me relax, knowing that the greatest basketball player of all time got nervous. Thank you Rotary 13 for a wonderful time!
I want to congratulate Michael Campbell on winning the US Open. How tough it must have been. His winning the title gives me an opportunity to tell you that one of the four attributes that I speak about is FOCUS. To be able to accomplish one's goals in life, one has to be able to stay focused. As Michael Campbell walked up the 18th fairway, he said that he must have said "stay focused," at least 30 times. His ability to stay focused and persevere with the world's number 1 Tiger Woods on his tail will be remembered for eternity.
What we do in life, echoes in eternity. Make it count.
Regards,
Joe
